At first they just asked for a penny or two,
A few cents from my dollar was not much to me.
“Let them have it” I said, and gave it away,
“They need it much worse than I, I can see.”
And still others came and they asked me for more;
three cents – five cents – and ten-cent requests too.
“I still have so much,” I said with all heart,
“I can spare it a little bit more just for you.”
“You must give at least half,” They now harshly proclaimed.
Then they quickly snatched it right out of my hand.
I looked at my dollar; now less than two quarters;
for the rest I was ready and willing to stand!
But then they came, and they pried my hands open.
They took it from me like it was simply a game.
“That’s for the others! We all have to share!”
I was left without a penny to my name.
Sadly that dollar was not just a dollar,
but a picture of my actual freedom.
I thought they’d be happy if I gave up a little,
but a little was not what would feed ‘em.
They asked, then demanded, and finally they stole.
It wasn’t enough, they still hungered for more,
If I’d have known the price of that little dollar,
I’d have fought through the bloodiest of war.
For now I have nothing, and they all my rights,
now my freedom is subject to them for all,
If I still had a voice, I’d shout from the roof -
“At all cost, young people, Protect Freedom’s Call!”
It is happening a little bit at a time. A little infringement on our speech here. A little bit more on our privacy there. They tell us where we can pray, how we can advertise. They tell us how much money we are not allowed to make. They decide where our money goes, and what we can buy. It’s very subtle at first.
They may not have taken our whole voice yet, but they are taking syllables and sounds out by the day. This is done under the banner of helping people, and protecting others. When freedom is taken, it’s never for the good of others, but always to their own detriment.
Take a look at the small change that is being taken from our dollar. As new bills are being passed, and new legislation, watch for the ways they are taking bits of our freedoms away. Let’s decide that it’s time to stand for what we have left, before we have nothing left to stand for.

New details about Michael Jackson’s Death Emerge
I was wondering if you were going to blog about this…
If they find they can take two cents, they will be back for more, if they find they can take five cents, they will be back for more, if they find they can take ten cents, they will be back for more, and finally having met with little opposition, they will be back for you.
