The Russian newspaper “the Pravda”, founded as the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party back in 1921 has been online in its current form since 1999. In the mind of many people, the words Pravda and propaganda have long been synonymous.
They recently ran an article entitled, “American capitalism gone with a whimper“. This piece received quite a bit of play here in the conservative media. It mocks America, home of the free, as we bravely slide down into the tyranny of Marxism. Does anyone else out there find it ironic that a news outlet long known in our country for being the leading source of communist propaganda now provides a clear warning to us even as our own media outlets continue to provide us with biased, one sided reporting? Or is the acknowledged bias in our national media actually something far worse? At what point does a liberal media bias actually become propaganda?
Propaganda can be defined as the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape public opinions and perceptions through the selective dissemination of information. Contrast this with what the media in America should be doing. Impartially providing a fair and comprehensive account of issues and events. Which one do you think you are getting when you turn on the evening news?
Press conferences with our president have become little more than propaganda speaches. If questions are even allowed of the press, only reporters loyal to the administration are called upon to ask softball questions. If any real reporters are actually in the room, they must be bound and gagged in the back row because I’m not hearing them and neither is the rest of the American public. There is a reason newspapers are failing in this country and viewer ship of the once mighty “big 3″ evening newscasts are approaching zero. They have all lost the trust and respect of the American public. We don’t need journalists to record a statement and replay it on the nightly news. The high school nerd rolling the projection equipment between classes is qualified to do that. We need journalists to ask questions that might land you on that “shit list”. If you don’t know where to start, let me give you the short list:
President Obama said we are no longer a Christian nation. He is now saying we have one of the largest Muslim populations in the world. Where is he getting his numbers? Near as I can figure, we are not even in the top 40!
The president has stated he does not want to run a car business. Now he is running 2 of them.
He said he doesn’t want to be in the banking business either. Go figure.
He does nothing but insult our allies and attempt to appease our enemies. Why? What exactly is his foreign policy plans? How soon until we actually join the axis of evil?
He said we are out of money. He now wants to pass his “urgent” health care plan. How is he planning to pay for that one? We already know, I just want to hear him lie to us some more.
Which does he think will be the final nail in our coffin? The UN treaty on global taxation (climate change for those not paying attention) or a federal consumption tax?
Why does he hate America and where the hell is his birth certificate?
Thats just off the top of my head. Something is terribly wrong with the media in this country today.
